| Gecko Helmet on trial by SSA | |
| 21/09/03 | The trial of all new Gecko Mark 10 full-face helmet, on
loan from Gecko Headgear
through out the summer has been a huge success. The helmet is
specifically designed with the needs of fast watercraft users (PWC,
ZapCats) in mind. The helmet has a nifty pump
up inner to ensure a snug fit, is a full-face type and
comes with either visor or goggles attachment. With a large range of
styles and colours on offer you're bound to find one to suit you or
colour match your ski! Gecko offer post-free despatch on all helmets ordered by SSA members but regret that they cannot discount the helmets themselves. Gecko Presentation At the end of the trial period Gecko kindly offered the helmet as an incentive for the individual who raised the most sponsorship money on the round the Island charity event, "The Wight Stuff". We are proud to announce that the helmet has been presented to Sean Perry aka "Tigger" who raised £600, well done Tigg!

| Slipway Tidy Up | |
| 29/07/03 |
Thanks
to all who turned out on such a horrible evening to tidy up around the
launch site. The car park area and "our" part of the
beach (as far as the rock groynes either side of the slipway where the
craft get moored up) were swept for litter. This short exercise produced 5 black bin bags of rubbish!!! Our area of the water frontage is now tidy, lets all work to keep it that way. A good all round effort by all concerned!

| First Cruise of 2003 | |
| 23/03/03 | The first club cruise of 2003 saw 22 members take to the
waves for the trip round to Sandown on the Isle of Wight. The
conditions on the outward leg were challenging to say the least as the
group battled against wind and tide. This was all forgotten
however when the sun, the frisbee and the ringo came out at the beach.

| Ladies Day | |
| 16/02/03 |
The club's three RYA trained instructors ran a mini-course specifically designed as a confidence-boosting event for the
female members of the club. The day included a "getting to know your pwc" session where the girls learned how to perform
pre-use checks and launch/retrieve safely. This was followed by a short spell on the water under instruction at slow and fast
speeds. The group then had a short break for coffee in the marquee and a talk on collision avoidance before taking to the Solent en-masse
for a cruise.
