SSA AWAY DAY
EVENT: Radar Rubble, Open to All VENUE: Queenford Jetski DATE: 25th January 2004 PURPOSE: To see how fast your pwc really goes on flat water! FINDINGS: Excellent away day! Some club members travelled up the day before to help set things up and many camped overnight, madness! The SSA marquee was the place to BBQ at Q on the Saturday evening and played host to Team Kawasaki among others. Dunk played guitar all night but no one seemed to notice, a great time was had by all. The event cost £25 per watercraft for day launch and included 4 runs against the radar gun. Fastest SSA times went to Bill Kircher, 65.9 mph (Yamaha GP1200); Dave Gussman (Yamaha GP1200), 64.5; Neil Farnham-Smith 60.2 (Sea-Doo GTX Supercharger); fastest ladies time was 59.1 set by Donna Kircher on her GP1200. THANKS: A big thank you to Chris Giles at Queenford Jetski for holding the event, and all its members for making us welcome, to Mick Walmsey for his fun and intuitive commentary and to Hutch, the radar gun man (Bill-65.9 won't let us forget you were there!). |
