One of the best things about Ladies Day is watching the faces of the fellas as we get ready to head off….that’s always a picture. This year was no exception! The water was a tad choppy as we put our skis in. Are we really going out in that?? Of course we were – hell, the last time we had a Ladies Day it was snowing! After a few instructions and briefing, off we went. The water was in fact more than a tad choppy, but everyone knew…that should they feel scared or did not want to carry on we would turn back. We went straight across to Osbourne Bay at a steady speed. Then we carried on down to Ryde. After mooring up we made our way up to the café…much to the amusement of onlookers, surprised to see that it was a group of women. We made ourselves comfy, and sat down to a hot drink and a chat. The sun was shining, so we then decided to take a picture or two. We then decided to carry on to the forts…back into the chop again. About half way there the chop was getting worse, so the decision was made to turn back. Although still quite rough, the ride back was fantastic, and fair play to Neesie and Teresa for doing so well. Looking around at all the girls ploughing through together, I felt so proud. The feeling of camaraderie was one I will never forget. Back at the beach the men were waiting for us with hot drinks and a bbq on the go. And dare I say it…they had done a better job of it than we would have! In fact, every Ladies Day we have from now on…we shall expect nothing less. Thanks girls for a very memorable day. I applaud you all. Vixen (Shaz) |
